International Women’s Day is a worldwide event that celebrates women’s achievements while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
The theme for #IWD2019 is #BalanceForBetter, a nod to the growing global push for professional and social equality. The aim of the theme is to encourage gender balance as a way for economies to thrive.
At Wild Honey, one of the most powerful ways we can influence how quickly gender balance is achieved is by championing our own #BalanceForBetter campaign. We take concrete steps to help achieve gender parity by helping women achieve their ambitions, practising a gender-balanced leadership, and developing a more inclusive and flexible work culture.
Meet the team: MariRose Ann Cheng (Maan) – Junior Sous Chef at Wild Honey
‘In the years I have been working at Wild Honey I can say that I am very proud to be working in a restaurant that offers such unique flavours and dishes. Being a girl inside a hot kitchen is tough but this is one challenge I can say I have overcome. I am very fortunate to have been given a chance to grow and develop my skills as the years have passed. Here, we work closely together with people from different cultures and background but we are bonded like family from different parents guiding each other in every step of the process.’
Better the balance, better the world, #BalanceforBetter #IWD2019.
